What Is Europe Direct?

Europe Direct (ED) offices are your local gateway to the European Union. They provide easy access to EU-related information, especially about citizens' rights and the EU’s goals and policies.

In Finland, Europe Direct offices during this period are located in: Hamina, Kajaani, Kankaanpää, Kuopio, Mikkeli, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Seinäjoki, and Valkeakoski.

Europe Direct offices:

  • Provide information in person, by phone, email, and on social media
  • Organize local events, discussions, and seminars on EU themes
  • Promote dialogue around topics such as the Conference on the Future of Europe

They also serve as local contact points for the European Commission, European Parliament, and the Council of the EU, and work closely with other stakeholders. There are over 400 offices across Europe.

This year, many events will also focus on the EU’s key priorities, including the green transition and challenges of digitalization.
